Wedding Day

As with any wedding, our day was not perfect, but it was wonderful! Even with the shortfalls, it all came together beautifully!

Things I Remember

  • It was horribly windy and we fought and fought the tablecloths and decorations prior to stopping to get ready, but during the ceremony and reception the wind had slowed down and everything was in place.
  • Running late because we were still curling my hair
  • Realizing at the reception that we had forgotten to put the DIY floating candles in the centerpieces.
  • Realizing after everyone left that we never really did an "exit" and used our birdseed!
  • Feeling like I never stopped moving at the reception. There was always someone to visit with and another part of the "reception schedule" to follow
  • Thinking everything looked beautiful and simple like I wanted
  • Having a sense of accomplishment/relief/excitement that it was all over. A DIY wedding is a lot more work than I ever imagined

Enjoy Some Pictures!

Guest Book Table. Everything personalized to us by myself or my mother.

The custom painted guitar my husband did for the groom's table.

Guitar pick favors

This family tree was one of my favorite things that we did! We hung all these
pictures on the wall in a family tree at our first house together.

Birdseed to throw afterward. I sat and hand stamped all those paper bags.
This is one of the things that ended up being forgotten!
No one threw a single bit at us! Oh, well! What are you gonna do!?
We just filled up the birdfeeders with it! HAHA!

Cake made by my MIL after a sketch I made. I wanted it rustic and to have
many layers. I also don't care for traditional wedding cake (almond)
so we had additional flavors like orange and lemon! I made the topper!

Sugar cookies made by my MIL as well.
I ordered the edible images.

The "aisle" in the yard. We rented chairs from a local University.
The aisle markers were antique blue Ball canning jars. (I still
use them in my kitchen!) filled with pebbles, water and flowers.

Arch the ceremony took place under. I wanted a flower filled arch
and the pond in the background. All our flowers were a mix
of silk and live. The heart table was used for our sand ceremony.

It's Time!
